In 1888 Carl F. Bucherer and his wife Luise started a jewelry store in Lucerne, Switzerland. The start of a successful business. Together they have 2 sons who joined the business in 1924. One had been trained as a watchmaker, while his brother had completed goldsmith training. These artistic ‘skills’ did not harm the company. In 1924 Carl entered into a partnership with Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of the now widely known brand Rolex. Carl had foresight and was the first store to sell this brand.

Despite the crisis in the 1930s, World War II, the company continued to grow and opened branches around the world. Especially at locations where tourism flourished. Even today, the company is still successful, to open their 125th anniversary in 2013, they opened their largest jewelry store in Paris. In 2001, Carl became independent. F.
