In 1888 Carl F. Bucherer and his wife Luise started a jewelry store in Lucerne, Switzerland. The start of a successful business. Together they have 2 sons who joined the business in 1924. One had been trained as a watchmaker, while his brother had completed goldsmith training. These artistic ‘skills’ did not harm the company. In 1924 Carl entered into a partnership with Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of the now widely known brand Rolex. Carl had foresight and was the first store to sell this brand.
Despite the crisis in the 1930s, World War II, the company continued to grow and opened branches around the world. Especially at locations where tourism flourished. Even today, the company is still successful, to open their 125th anniversary in 2013, they opened their largest jewelry store in Paris. In 2001, Carl became independent. F. Bucherer company founded to guarantee the tradition of making watches that started in 1919.
The Patravi is a line that has its own character. Design of the case, design dial, etc. The name Patravi comes from Latin, freely translated means ‘I happen’. That is what Bucherer has done, survived all the storms in the jewelry industry and is still standing. This hero has multiple functions, chronograph, the second time, date and time. All of this is driven fully automatically by a timepiece which has been restored by our watchmaker. The white dial is easy to read and the red GMT pointer contributes to that.
